Hi, I am still hoping a Solaris Sunrise will come on the market. As I have been looking at both Solaris's and Prout Snowgoose's I notice greater bridge deck clearance on the Snowgoose. I know the Snowgoose slams in certain sea conditions. The reduced clearance on a Solaris would suggest increased slamming, therefore is this a problem?

Hi Jim,

We have, on the odd occasion, found ouselves ploughing into a head sea and a Force 5/6 with Jadzia but rarely have we had any slamming. We have had the odd wave between the hulls which came squirting out of the cockpit drains, but only occasionally. Still makes you jump though! As Roger has suggested in a previous post the nacelle under the saloon seems to part waves quite efficiently and help to keep things quiet.

We too considered both the Sunrise and the Prouts. After much time spent looking at several Prouts, from 33 to 37 feet, we came to the conclusion that they did not have a proper double berth so bought the Sunrise. But I guess you pays your money and takes your choice, as the saying goes.

Good luck with your search for your boat. Have you considered the Sunrise Sport advertised by Network Yacht Brokers and for sale on the Hamble?
